No, argue Stephen Moore and Richard Vedder in this WSJ piece. What needs to be brought down is not the federal deficit, but federal spending. Taxes increases, even if they do increase revenues, simply give the politicians more money to waste.
Our focus needs to be completely on lowering the federal burden on taxpayers and economic growth.
