Margaret Thatcher left the top job in the British government more than 16 years ago, but we can still learn lessons from her leadership as prime minister.

That was a key message John Blundell delivered to a John Locke Foundation luncheon audience today. Among the lessons was Thatcher’s willingness to support policies supported by human nature (video clip):

She championed policies that went with, rather than against, the grain of human nature. She once said popular capitalism is nothing less than a crusade to enfranchise the many in the economic life of the nation. We Conservatives are returning power to the people.
