About frickin’ time. The Tampa event will finally get the HD treatment it merits from Raycom.

ACC Commish John Swofford and the Greensboro gang should also demand that Raycom at least match the ACC-in-HD regular season offerings of ESPN to avoid the travesty of Wednesday night. Local ACC fans were treated to the standard def Raycom broadcast of dook-Carolina while their ESPN HD feed they paid for was blacked out. (And don’t bother complaining to Time Warner about that — they’ll say they have no choice in the matter.)

But a change would require the ACC actually putting fans first. You know how you can tell that’ll never happen? The ACC basketball tourney is in Tampa, that’s how. Another sign? The next ACC football title game will again be in SEC country, in Jacksonville. Smelly, awful Jacksonville, Gateway to Palatka.

At least its not Tampa.
