This update on Charlotte’s annexation plans just needs to explicitly make the point that the city makes out like bandits on this deal. Has for years.
The trouble is — the real cause to worry about the city’s financing future given current spending trends — that the land rush is coming to an end. In a few years there will not be any land left to annex and the quick cash influsion Pam Syfert fell back on for years will not be there.
No wonder Queen Pam is retiring now.
