Originally the story on the AP poll was being peddled under the heading “McCain takes slim lead over Obama in AP-GfK poll,” but that wasn’t good enough ? all it did was downplay the news that McCain had finally taken the lead in the poll.
Headline 2.0 is much “better”; it now reads “Whites lift McCain to slim lead over Obama in poll .” The newer one downplays the lead as well as implies racism as the real reason for it.
