Unreal but instantly credible analysis from Casey Research on the cost of the various federal bailout now on the books. Starting with a $8.5 trillion number for the current bailouts, they computed the cost of other programs in 2008 dollars:
- The New Deal………………$500 billion
- The Marshall Plan…………..$125 billion
- The Louisiana Purchase…….$284 million
- World War II……………….$4.1 trillion
- The Vietnam War………….$686 billion
This backs up our observation the other day that the search for a magic federal bailout for local needs is completely out of whack.
