If any good comes from the economic and political turmoil of this long summer it’s that the corruption and dysfunction of the U.S. Congress has been exposed to enough voters to make a difference in 2010.

What better exemplifies the rot in D.C. than the fact that the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Charles Rangel, D-NY, is a tax cheat. The man who writes the tax laws that all of us poor schlubs must obey feels he is above the law. And with the current ethically challenged and politicized Justice Department leadership appointed by dear leader Barack Obama, it’s likely nothing will be done about it.

That’s why God and our Founders invented the two-year term.
