Alright. Continuing with the UNCC study meme, here are a couple more critiques of that thing.

First, noted CATS critic and transit expert David Hartgen takes a look at the study here. And we also have an analysis from Todd Fuller. ACC hoops fans may recognize the name as a former NC State great. But for our purposes the important thing is that Todd is a crack statistician and Mecklenburg County resident.

Here he focuses on CATS’ economic efficiency and here he focuses on the Hauser study. Fuller also includes notes on Locke Foundation research, and cites a failure to use inflation-adjusted numbers in a couple cases.

Todd offered his research and input unsolicited, and we thank him for it.

Also, this Carolina Journal piece tries to pull all the pieces of this story together in one spot. Hope it works.

Finally, here’s a challenge from Edd Hauser to the Observer for additional follow-up on the story.

Let me jumpstart things in case the Uptown paper of record needs some help. Initial questions for Dr. Hauser:

1) Was a draft of the report sent to the Chamber for review?

2) Did the Chamber suggest any changes?

3) What were those suggestions?

4) Were they made?

See? Simple.
