Says WRAL:

The mayor also said the 140,000 customers on Raleigh’s water system should purchase rain barrels … to have water for outdoor irrigation this year. …

“If the dry conditions persist ? I don’t know if they’ll persist one month or one year ? we’re not going to have drinking water available for lawn watering,” he said.

Seems to me there won’t be any water in the rain barrels either if there’s no rain. And he’s not the first government official to make this suggestion.

This sounds like buying a bigger piggy bank if you lose your job.
