A new Urban Institute analysis of SCHIP-eligible children for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services finds fewer uninsured than previously thought.
The best thing to do for children, according to the Institute, is to limit the growth of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Particularly since SCHIP and Medicaid expansions often lead people to drop private insurance coverage.
