The Los Angeles Times today has a story about blogger Michael Yon, who is as close to the Ernie Pyle
of the Iraq War as you’re going to get. Of course, Ernie Pyle gets
sanctified while Yon is belittled because he’s, well, a mere blogger.
As evidence of Yon’s non-professionalism, the Times reporter writes this:
While a New York Times reporter found Iraqi security forces struggling
with dishonesty and internecine rivalries, for instance, Yon described
the same forces as having great promise.
Unwittingly, he’s written an indictment of his own newspaper, The New York Times and the MSM in general.
