In the 1960s and ’70s Europe had some of the most dangerous radicals around. There was Danny Cohn-Bendit in France, Rudi “The Red” Dutschke and the Baader-Meinhof gang in Germany.

This is about as radical as it gets in Europe these days, at least among non-Muslims. Most accounts treat gnome liberation as a big joke, but it’s still theft, on a large scale if these reports are correct.
