Taking Edwards never really made sense for the Panthers, especially given the price/when he was drafted. That said, I don’t see a particular justification for releasing him now. It doesn’t save much money and it’s unlikely that the Panthers are going to an a better replacement at this stage of the season. So is Armanti the token scapegoat for the Cardinals loss?
This leaves only two of the 10 players the Panthers drafted in 2010 on their active roster (Brandon LaFell and Greg Hardy) plus Jimmy Clausen on IR. Nice work there.
