As the General Assembly prepares to end a
session that produced a state budget stuffed with new spending and
new/additional taxes, news media continued to turn to JLF for
commentary on the good, the bad and the ugly. The Winston-Salem Journal interviewed John Hood, as did the Raleigh News & Observer, while
Joe Coletti joined WPTF-AM’s morning show to highlight some of the more
outrageous spending items. Coletti’s Monday appearance prompted a call
from an outraged state employee who had trouble swallowing why a teapot museum and
a horse ring would be considered more important than additional
compensation for state employees. Coletti appeared with Donna Martinez,
who was co-hosting the WPTF show for regular host Kevin Miller, who was
away on vacation.
