Democratic members of Congress and their staffs seem unable to deal like grownups with people who disagree with them. The other day someone in Sen. Claire McCaskill’s office in St. Louis flipped off some well-behaved protesters there to urge McCaskill not to vote for the disastrous Obama healthcare destruction plan. But McCaskill says it wasn’t any of her staff, just some pesky neighbors who happened to be in her district office.

Well, that explanation was so attractive that Virginia U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello used it when cops were called on some Tea Party protesters at his Charlottesville office. It was believed that someone in Perriello’s office called the police, but, guess what? It was a neighbor, Perriello now says!

Sure, that’s the ticket.
