The state’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Testing and Accountability recommends that the state administer fewer, not better, tests.
The commission’s recommendations:
1) validate the state’s awful testing program, the ABCs of Public Education;
2) enable DPI to continue to manipulate the testing program from test development to reporting;
3) provide cover for the State Board of Education to make changes to the accountability program, changes that will further inflate student test scores;
4) ensure that we never know how students in North Carolina compare to students in other states or countries, which would require nationally normed tests; and
5) will ruin my Thanksgiving weekend.
