Meehan says Nifong wanted a report identifying the match they had identified for use in an upcoming court proceeding. Says this was the first time they had been asked to produce a written report while a case was ongoing, however. “It was the first interim report we had produced.”
Nifong called later to request the report. Said he would come in and pick it up. Says Nifong picked it up the next day or day after. Came in on May 12 to get it. Himan and Gottleb were with him. Meeting lasted “an hour or so,” long enough to be sure Nifong understood it.
Questions now about sample 210J: Y chromosome profile from a panty stain. May 11 was date of analysis. Found some male DNA on it. “It’s clearly at least two people.” Neither matched any lacrosse player, he says. This was related to Nifong on May 12.
The hearing just broke up for lunch until 1:30. Chairman asks Meehan not to discuss his testimony with anyone.
