One of the arguments we often hear from the higher education establishment is that the US is in danger of losing its “economic leadership” (whatever that means) unless we start to put more of our young people through college. You see, we’re falling behind the Canadians, Norwegians, Belgians and a few others and that’s bound to mean something bad for us if we don’t get back in “the lead.”
