As county commissioners and city councils go into retreats, word of the need for new taxes trickles in. You see, cities and counties are going broke. They need to undertake new construction projects – for children, of course – and a new tax could really leverage more borrowing power and help bond ratings, which increases government’s buying power. Pay no attention to the little old people who didn’t get a raise on their pensions, or the wage slave who haven’t had a raise in four years. Government needs more of the pie.
