Someone mentions his daughter’s letter that was written as a class assignment. Yaeger says she wrote it to Brodhead but said they could use it in the book. “Sometimes we forget the 15-year-old daughter and how it changed her life.”

Says Mike Francesca read the letter on his radio show “and he was choking up.”

Question: Says the book belongs on the NYT bestseller list (which it made today), how did he feel writing this?

Yaeger: Says I was following it and realized I shouldn’t rush to judgment either. When he met Pressler in January he was told Pressler was keeping a diary and was going to write a book and they decided to work together. “It’s an honor to be on the New York Times bestseller list…it’s a tribute to Mike and his story.”
