WPTF 680-AM news just aired a segment on the fact that the state lottery commission has agreed on a name for the General Assembly’s greatest practical joke to date. They’re going to call it the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Incidentally, the lottery commissioned is chaired by Charlie Sanders. You may remember him running for Senate in 1996. What with John Edwards getting a cush job at UNC Law, UNC breaking state rules to choose Erskine Bowles to be UNC President, and Sanders heading the “Education Lottery” commission, I think I could craft a very strong campaign message for the next Democrat Senate candidate: Vote to send me to Washington, or else I’ll screw with your education system!
