Speaking of WRAL, they’re reporting here that the Legislature is talking “toll road” again for I-95, and just like federal income taxes meant to “soak the rich”, this would be set up so only out-of-state drivers (mainly) would have to pay it.

I used to work for a company fronting I-95, and with commuting and all, I’ve personally driven more than 71,327 miles on that Interstate in the past seven years. There’s plenty of traffic to tax on that road, certainly; but you know what? If they put the toll booth in at the “Welcome” Center — boy, is that Orwellian — but fail to dig up U.S. 301 between Dillon, S.C. and Lumberton, N.C. — or between Gaston, N.C. and Skippers, Va., guess where all those cars and trucks are going to go.

It won’t be pretty, no sir. ‘s why we built the Interstate in the first place.
