N.C. A&T successfully continues to spin the story of its misappropriation of federal grant money.

Yesterday, A&T vice chancellor for research and economic development N. Radhakrishnan said abuse of federal grant money shouldn’t hurt A&T’s ability to secure future grants, something that doesn’t make me feel any better.

Today, Vice Chancellor Willie Ellis says the amount of money misspent is significantly less than the original $500,000 questioned by state auditors. Now I feel better.

Fortunately, UNC administration chef of staff Jeff Davies is still has the big picture in focus:

“I would be delighted if it is significantly less, considering that it’s something that should never have happened in the first place,” Davies said.

That’s the bottom line, no matter how A&T spins it.
