I’m oft amused, not amazed, by what constitutes worthwhile news and eye catching headlines.  This example caught my eye as a long range commuter.

With
a headline like, “American’s Commuting Times Get Shorter” I was enticed
to read more.  In fact, I wasted more time reading it than the
average American’s commuting times have decreased.  Of worth, you
just probably wasted more time reading this then the average American
saved commuting one day to work.

I’m waiting to see the next
headline read something like, “Average American Cell Times
Increase”.  Then all the savings we achieved in commuting can be
lengthened by the time we sit in our cars finishing up cell phone
conversations when we arrive at home or work.
