If the data suggested North Carolina’s traffic congestion would double in 25 years, you’d expect transportation planners to look for ways to deal with that congestion, right?

UNC-Charlotte Professor David Hartgen has found that some planners seem oblivious to the congestion problem as they chase other goals. Hartgen will address the topic on this weekend’s Carolina Journal Radio.

Speaking of bad transportation policy, Michael Sanera and Joe Coletti will discuss the unintended consequences of Charlotte’s special half-cent sales tax for transit programs.

You’ll hear Sen. Robert Pittenger explain his concerns about the work of the N.C. Legislative Commission on Global Climate Change, and Roy Cordato will explain why the John Locke Foundation highlights freedom and prosperity through a new Issue Guide 2007.

You’ll also learn about legislation that would create an independent redistricting commission to draw new election maps after the 2010 Census.
