Cherokee Chief Michell Hicks has until November 23 to decide if he will support a resolution signed by nine of twelve tribal council members to hold a referendum on the legalization of alcohol sales on the reservation. According to Cherokee ABC Board Chair Bob Blankenship:
Jackson County needs it, we need it, everyone needs it who is involved in the tourism business.
So, maybe the region could be branded with a slogan like:
WNC . . . Tolerable when stoned.
