The retired three-star, familiar to attendees at John Locke Foundation Headliner events, called Sen. John Kerry’s comments on Monday “despicable” and says, “It’s like being in the Battle of the Bulge and you have a senator defile our troops.” He also said it’s “despicable that he claims he’s a veteran” after leaving his boat and crew after only three months in Vietnam once he had earned three Purple Hearts, “two of which were self-induced.”
