The Henderson County Board of Commissioners voted Monday to award an economic development incentive package to an unnamed company. The value of the prize could be as high as $3.75 million over seven years.

Andrew T. Tate, president of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, briefed commissioners on the measure, explaining that the company wanted to remain anonymous due to “competitive pressures.”

The manufacturing company says it will hire 125 people and pay more than Hendersonville’s average salary for fulltime manufacturing work. According to the ESC, the average salary is $48,600; but the average factory worker I know in Hendersonville makes anywhere between $7.25 and $8.00/hr.
