I received word that the Hendersonville Republicans passed a resolution in support of changing the name of the North Carolina Education Lottery. With all due respect to the Honorable John Blust, sponsor, I do not believe House Bill 518 will accomplish its designs. If the objective is to give the North Carolina Education Lottery a name that fits, wouldn’t Crony Slush Fund Racket be a better approximation?
But as a general rule, I have long wanted government to speak the same language as the rest of us. I feel like such a fool when I’m the only one trying to use real words.
