Why is the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system getting more directly into the advertising business? From Monday?s Observer:
What’s the only thing missing from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools?
Tuition, according to a $200,000 marketing and information campaign being rolled out as the 2005-06 application season begins.
“Enriched academics. World-class opportunities. Renowned faculty,” says the slogan featured in ads, billboards and posters. “The only thing missing is the tuition.”
The campaign, developed by CMS and local public relations firm Luquire George Andrews, targets families who will enter CMS for the first time next year, said public information officer Jerri Haigler. Families who are thinking about switching from private, charter or home schools ? as well as parents of next year’s kindergartners ? are encouraged to enroll by Jan. 19 so they can take part in the first round of assignments.
