Among those in the Cult of Jerry Orr, there is a widespread belief that there will be a substantial increase in international flights from Charlotte, regardless of whether US Airways remains independent or merges with American Airlines. Buenos Aires, Argentina in particular has been mention as a possible future destination from the Queen City. Just don’t see that happening. It’s a long ways to Buenos Aires, the market outside of the usual places in the US is quite thin, and the Argentine economy is weak at the moment. United Airlines is ending its Newark-Buenos Aires flight come late September which is a pretty clear hint how things are doing at the moment.
