WRAL’s web poll, admittedly not the most statistically-sound measure, shows that only 16 percent of nearly 6,000 respondents support higher property taxes to build schools. Eighty percent say “no” to higher taxes for schools and 3 percent are just not sure.
This does not bode well for the school board or the chair(s) of the bond committee (who have yet to be appointed).
