In the hard copy of the Asheville Citizen-Times today appeared two, two-column ads, each several inches long. The longer of the two was a Spanish version of the first. They both advertised public hearings for disbursement of Newly Printed Money (NPM; a.k.a, ARRA funds) for transit in Madison County. The Citizen-Times only charges $1.75 a line for legal ads on Saturday, but that multiplied by the number of NPM projects requiring public hearings across the country is how much? The third largest ad was also from the federal government; the fourth and fifth were from the newspaper itself.
