An advisory committee for Wake County School System recommends the school board to enact district policy to ban the sale of unhealthy foods for any fundraisers, and activities OUTSIDE of school hours. Now PTAs and Booster Clubs attention quickly turns to where they get money to help with school activities. Of course, the “Food Police” are not interested. It is their responsibility to control everyone since some have no self-control. It reminds me of “Hidden Valley” a utopia where the popcorn machine pops cauliflower, “where kids not only eat their vegetables but can’t get enough”, of course dipped in ranch dressing. Soon bootlegging candy bars, cookies to football games may be a reality. Wonder if the Wake School Board is bold enough to follow in Nanny Bloomberg’s footsteps?
