Wake School Board Runoff: “it’s going to be a mega race.”

NC State political science professor Andy Taylor sums up the runoff for the District 3 seat on the Wake County school board between Republican challenger Heather Losurdo and Democratic incumbent Kevin Hill. Voters declined to give Hill, the former board chairman, the needed majority to keep the seat.

With the control of the Wake County schools in the balance, Taylor said, “it’s going to be a mega race.”

Indeed. I find Hill’s loss more of a surprise than chairman Ron Margiotta’s defeat. Kevin Hill is a darling of Raleigh insiders and the Democratic Party.
