This time North Carolina’s 3rd District Republican Representative does so in a Washington Times article about former Sen. Fred Thompson’s visit with several GOP congressmen, as he explores a run at the presidency.
“After seven failed years of George Bush, this party needs somebody who
can excite them,” said Rep. Walter B. Jones, North Carolina Republican.
He was one of the outspoken conservatives against the Iraq war who
attended the Capitol Hill meeting.
