Waynesville has finally found a spot for the big head of Tennessee marble it acquired from the now defunct Biltmore Square Mall. It was donated at the same time the town received another, less abstract statue, “Chasing Tadpoles.” The latter went straight into the ground, but it has taken about sixteen months to find a home for “La Femme.” I don’t know why. Some goof dressed her up like a Christmas tree during the mall’s last season, and I always thought it would be fun to pose with my hand coming through her eye.
