According to John Hood in the Wall Street Journal,
presidential hopeful, John Edwards, thinks that Unions are what’s
growing on. He thinks that increased membership will provide the key to
lifting the lower class and protecting the middle class. A few minutes
with the author of Free Choice for Workers, George Leef,
might have changed Edwards’s mind. Oops, too late now. What else is
growing on? Wilmington’s tax rate, if sewer problems and cost overruns
on the convention center continue, said Joe Coletti
at an Americans for Prosperity meeting. If you really want to know what
to do about growth, stay away from SmartGrowth policies that lock the
land, increase density, and erode freedom. Thanks to a presentation by Chad Adams and Michael Sanera,
Camden County may avoid the SmartGrowth quagmire. And an issue that
seems like it may never be axed no matter how much it costs, is light
rail in Charlotte. Queen City apostle, Jeff Taylor, on WBTV and the Keith Larson show (WBT), gave residents the skinny on the train.
