It must be a slow news day. The Asheville Citizen-Times published a lengthy article on how the Founding Fathers probably whipped up a few random words to fill in the second blank of ten on the Bill of Rights. Why would our brilliant forefathers intentionally dredge up such an essential safeguard against tyranny in an imperfect world? Surely they did not foresee the un-liberated regime ushered in by the youthful invading hoard intent on ignoring or intellectualizing away America’s fundamental laws and principles. It is normal for 200-year-old liberties to now require jumping through dozens of hoops of arbitrary deeming for special terms and conditions of application.
