Joe Klein?s latest TIME column demonstrates ? again ? his ignorance of the free-market, limited-government political philosophy. In urging President Obama to stick to his guns on government-oriented health-care changes, Klein declares:
Obama should be heartened by the fact that most of his Republican adversaries oppose the bill for crass political rather than ideological reasons. They assume that if it passes, his investment of political capital will result in higher poll numbers ? which means they assume the public will like the changes he is proposing.
No ideological reason to oppose increased government intrusion into health care? Where has Klein being burying his head during this debate?
Perhaps he?s been too busy focusing on his own ?crass political? calculations.
