Recently prices have skyrocketed! Demand is at an all time high and there might be price gouging as retailers might raise prices. What a dreadful situation.

Sugar prices have climbed more than 35 percent since last year. A late sugar beet harvest in 2005, coupled with the temporary shutdowns of two Louisiana sugar refineries after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, sent prices upward.

Candy manufacturers? choices include absorbing the price increases themselves, raising their prices and passing them along to retailers, or doing a little of both.
Hmmm, methinks petroleum producers are thinking the same things.

?Most of us are increasing prices as we go forward,? said Domenic Antonellis, president of the New England Confectionery Co. (NECCO) in Revere.
Price gouging!!! Call the President and Congress! Act quickly, Halloween depends on it!!
