Recently, conservative writer David Frum brushed off Ron Paul for holding to allegedly crackpot economic views. A real economist, GMU’s Peter Boettke here makes mincemeat of Frum.

Like so many other people who just can’t imagine that the conventional wisdom they have absorbed about government might be wrong, Frum accepts that we need a great deal of economic management from Washington, especially when it comes to money. There is a large literature, with which he is obviously unfamiliar, showing that not only do we not need such management, but are much worse off for it.
