Mention this because neither our Atlanta-based correspondent nor I have ever heard of them despite their apparently being based here in Charlotte. The company, which sells tickets to minor league baseball games and such, just acquired the naming rights for a year to the ballpark that the Class A Myrtle Beach Pelicans use (“TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark”).

Ticketreturn.com’s website shows the company is owned by TicketReturn, LLC. The N.C. Secretary of State’s office, meanwhile, lists TicketReturn, LLC as being formed in 2002 but as being dissolved on August 26, 2010 by the state in 2010 for failing to file annual reports with the state as required by state law. This is something that has happened to the company before — they were dissolved on May 5, 2005 for failing to file annual reports but reinstated on August 24, 2006.

TicketReturn has also never paid property taxes in Mecklenburg County though its president, Robert L. Denton, Jr., aka R. Leroy Denton owns a condo here. (He is current on the taxes on his condo, which has never been listed as TicketReturn’s business address.)

Bonus observation: No sports complex should have a name that’s 12 syllables long.
