Headline of a recent UNC-Chapel Hill press release:

Rare piano expected to boost UNC?s arts profile

You know, I must admit to skepticism when UNC created a brand-new, $170,000/yr. administratorship of “Arts Director” despite being enmired in a budget crisis such that there’s “not enough money” for educational purposes, let alone new administrative positions (although there’s always reason to believe that administrative “costs” come first). Nevertheless, it’s clear that already this new position is paying off.

Think about it: How else could UNC have become “one of the few institutions nationwide with both” a New York Steinway D concert grand and a Hamburg Steinway D concert grand. Not too shabby, I must say.
