The Jackson County Planning Board has decided that a new dorm on the Western Carolina University Campus is indeed subject to the county’s subdivision ordinance:
WCU development likely meets or exceeds county standards, but this would emphasize the community role WCU plays, planning board members said. . . . WCU must present plans to the county planning board before building dorms and residential halls – making them public and subject to citizen comment.
