A New York Times Book Review exercise yesterday seems almost a parody. They asked (mostly left-wing) intellectuals to suggest books for the presidential candidates. The more left-wing the intellectual, the more absurd and pretentious the response (can anyone say Katrina Vanden Heuvel).
