In this piece just posted on Forbes, Patrick Gleason of Americans for Tax Reform examines two hot races (for the Senate here, and the battle for the governorship of Wisconsin) and points out that in each instance, the GOP candidate has helped to reduce taxes. Their opponents depend on the voters not realizing that lowering the government’s drag on the economy is beneficial, while trying to buy their support with promises of government handouts.

Republicans do a lot of bad stuff, but at least sometimes they try to rein in the growth of government.Democrats, on the other hand, never stop finding excuses for its expansion, then excuses for the undesirable consequences of doing that.
