Yes, I conceded the point that the Winston-Salem Dash complied with legal requirements when disclosing information to city’s stadium review committee.
But the arrogance of Billy Prim and city officials is still overwhelming, as evidenced by city attorney Angela Carmon’s statement to the Winston-Salem Journal’s Scott Sexton:
It’s also telling to take a peek behind the curtain in the back-and-forth that went on Wednesday night when the Winston-Salem Journal was trying to determine if city officials were serious about claiming an exemption to open-meetings law.
Carmon, the city attorney, made it clear that she wasn’t kidding. She told us that if we dared to litigate, the “full force of Brookstown Development” — that’s Prim’s company, the one that stands to profit even further should any of the land surrounding the ballyard ever get developed — would be behind the city.
Sounds like a threat to me.
Statements like that make you wonder whose interest she’s looking out for: the council’s, the public’s, or worse, Prim’s.
Unbelievable.
