House Speaker Joe Hackney has named a legislative committee to begin the process of drawing a single House district for Pender County, in response to the US Supreme Court upholding the decision of North Carolina?s high court that the current district map in Southeastern NC violates the state constitution. Among the members of new committee are area Reps. Sandra Spaulding Hughes, Danny McComas, Bonner Stiller, and Pender?s own Carolyn Justice.
