I’ll give it a few more days before I completely lose it over the lack of community cooperation in the matter of the murder of 12-year-old Joshua Jackson. Maybe it is just shock that is preventing meaningful info from reaching CMPD.

There is certainly no reason for CMPD to hold a press conference and plead for more info if they getting what investigators consider reliable, consistent descriptions of the shooters and their vehicles. So I have to think CMPD is leveling with us on that front and didn’t go out of its way to provoke a community backlash.

My wild guess about what is going on is that the witnesses have much more info on the multiple shooters, but they do not know exactly who shot Joshua, so as a result they are holding back in order to not finger the wrong shooter. That’s should not be a concern as the ballistics will sort that all out.

I say “should not” be a concern, but it is hard to tell if the “don’t snitch” culture which enables petty drug and property crime has spread to the murder of the children. Guess we’ll find out soon enough.
